Thx !
Would you take 2k for it…..
very nice
Do you remember the jetting for the carbs
I run air 200, 135 main, idle 55 and F11 emulsion. pump 50.
What are the jettings for your carbs ?
idle 55 , main 115 , air 180, emulsion F11, venturies 28mm.
What kind of wrap is that on your header ?
Thermolec.
Sounds so good, and drone while cruising?
No video while cruising. Sorry.
Awesome ! I want to see and hear it in your VW . I'm planning a build this winter. Using what I can from Johannes
Just realized this is in your 1973 ! We drive the same car ! I'm only running an 1835. Plans to build, like I just said. Great car !!!!
ruclips.net/video/Ka1Z0yWL9fk/видео.html . At 6 minutes 41 seconds its throtlle open :-) enjoy !
I bought the Jpm heads and cam And rockers. iam turbo and fuel injected !! I live in the states! Please follow my build blog ! Cheers
Wow very responsive.
It sure is :-)
what are the Hp and torque on that beast¡?
232 whp and 264 Nm torque ;-)
Nice ! What is the price range for all parts ?
@@Jimb0w63 All parts are around 15000 euro's
Easy mid 13 sec car at over 100 with a better launch. That thing sounds and look fantastic. Love it. I can hear the straight cut gears. What cylinder heads and cam?
Hi, thanks for reaction ! Heads are SF 48x38 with Raptor cam 01308 from JPM. Check out my other vid's of my car also ;-) ;-)
What camshaft are you using?
JPM raptor 01308 camshaft.
Hot!
Nice
Thanks !
I am debating on a 2276 or 2332. Saving up for MS 230 all jpm valvetrain, wasp stage II and that muffler you have. I wonder how much shipping is to the USA plus more taxes when it gets here :(
Hi James, if I could do it all over, I'd go 2332 again. Nice torque all the way. Yes, we here in Europe are lucky that JPM is not to far away for us. Email JPM with shipping costs and what you would like to buy from him, he will certainly answer you. Or else go to CSP VW website. All JPM parts available there, fill your shoppingbasket and go check out. Before you have to pay, you can see your shipping cost to your country. Then you can delete your basket again. Hope this make sense to you. Good luck ! ;-)
Straight cut gears?
Yes sir, Magnum straight cut gears.
They can use filters?
Yes, I use race foam filters.
I know this is an old post but Im hoping you'lll get a chance to answer or maybe someone else with same exhaust. Just got mine today. It came with hangers and this rubber piece with 2 holes but have no idea how to attach the hangers or where that rubber piece goes or is it even necessary that I install..
Sorry for veeeeery late response, but the rubber is atached to the ring that goes around the muffler , and the ohter end goes to the inner wheelweld. with a bracket. Bracket should be in the hardware kit. ;-)
Have a Wasp Stage 1 as well and need to go to the TÜV Test center for sound meassurment. Do you guys have some reference values in db levels that you can share? Hope iz won't be too loud for the Swiss authorities!
Hi, I cannot answer your question about db of the WASP system. I don't know how loud it is in db. Sorry mate.
How much power did it make?
167 hp to the wheels, belt on, 29°Celsius. Engine made 227 hp at crank. A lot of loss through clutch/gearbox.
mahler6x That’s awesome, my best friends little brother back in the day built a 2332 with IDA’s that made 189 hp to the wheels belt off. I’m currently building a 1776 with the hopes of making over 100 hp to the wheels.
@@Flat4Power4Life That's awesome ! Good luck with your build , make sure everything is well balanced. 100 whp is possible with the right parts and fine tuning at the end. Go for it , it'll be fun fun fun :-)
No sound beats a Vw Og flat four. Thing of beauty
Where did you get the rear apron?
James lowe At German Performance Parts. Grtz.
mahler6x Found it finally and i guess it is no longer available. There is not a price for it. :(
@@jameslowe8724 Indeed, you are right, its no longer available. Did not know that. Maybe later available again ? Good luck !
hi what size side winder is this? thanks :)
It is 39mm inside tubing. ;-)
mahler6x awesome. Would you fit the same on a 1776 or go bigger or smaller? Thanks again!! 😁
@@jamesb003 Depends on your valves, but yes you can put it on a 1776 as in my video. It is also a 1776 engine. Don't go bigger on the diametre, it will be "overkill" , unless you have huge heads/valves/cam .
sick
G f for ffbf f
Damed! And the results were?
Jonathan Ross : Results were a 167 hp to the wheels at 7K rpm. I had 212 hp on the crank. Conditions were not perfect for dyno , 29° Celcius.. Belt was on, jetting was not optimal, a bit to rich at the high rpm zone. But anyway, not bad for a small 4 cilinder boxer engine, not ? I lose a lot of hp trough my gearbox (pro-drag IRS),next month the engine will be updated with raptor venturies and the raptor powerjet kit + wasp stage II exhaust. That should give me about 20 hp ontop. Thanks
I have 100hp a the wheels on my 2054cc engine on my street buggy and it is a rocket!!! Can imagine what a 200hp engine will do at the wheels. You have a very nice car!
@@jonathanross4196 Thank you. I did my best to restore my vw :-) Yes, indeed, 100 whp gets things moving don't they. All the best Jonathan ! Greetz from Belgium.
@Jonathan Ross : engine now upgraded to 232 whp and 264 Nm torque. Check my video's to see it . Enjoy the sound of flat 4 power ! ;-)
@@mahler6x That is what I need man, would you mind sharing by email the engine configuration? How is it set for a street driver car?
Black mamba
Not exatcly, its dark blue, but thanks anyway ! ;-)
@@mahler6x sorry i was wrong 😊
@@gurkansaracoglu. no problem !
man, i reaaaally want this exhaust. unfortunately i only own a bay at the moment, and sadly the wasp wont fit neither bay nor split :( But my buddy and i are talking about fabbing a custom exhaust. it will pretty much be a wasp with a bit smaller diameter (mine is only a 1776 so the real deal would be a bit too big), and obviously modified to fit a bus. Hope to see more vids of your wasp (hopefully better quality) Cheers!
To bad it won't fit your ride. But thx for the input ! In summer, I'll change to a wasp stage II, the stage I is still to narrow ! I'll post more vids then. cheers mate !
@@mahler6x are you going to be selling your stage 1 then?
@@MrJepperhk Yes, not immediately but in a few months I will.
@@mahler6x might be interested. I need it for measurements, and have a buddy who possibly wants it when im done with it. I see youre in belgium - im in denmark so its not terribly far
@@MrJepperhk No, its not that far. The exhaust comes automatically with stinger also, its al bought in june 2019. Had three 1/4" runs and approx 500km driven with it. I'll be intouch with you ! Thanks !

mahler6x Absolutely!!
@@SladesVWBeetle Super beetles all the way !! ;-)
mahler6x i’m redoing a 73 super beetle right now, I’ve owned standards and also supers. And I love them both. But the supers do drive a little nicer to be honest with you. Remember that’s only an opinion.
@@SladesVWBeetle I agree, I had them both also and I prefer the supers, more comfortable to drive and better handling in corners. Good luck with your '73 super !
Does not sound good!
You are right, it does not sound good in the vid, but in real life it does for sure. Its not only a matter of sound, its about performance also.
@@mahler6x I have a kit car with expensive custom made exhaust (previous owner) Its loud drive you mad on longer trips, after reverting back to normal quiet pack (very cheap) the car is a lot more usable. I feel that the car has less power cf the original exhaust. But one is not afraid to step in the gas more because its more quiet, so in the end u are going as fast as the custom exhaust, with less attention on the road. So something to think about!
@@patriciayuen8541 I don't agree, I have bought this exhaust for 2 reasons : 1) its more quiet than previous systems I tried, and 2) this system gives me best output performance than previous systems. Let's say the 2" Berg system is almost identical qua performance but a bit louder in the high rev zone. But no hard feelings, do whatever you want to do, at the end its all about the fun to drive the old VW bug. Cheers!
@@patriciayuen8541 i think its time to get rid of the kit car and get a camry if that's how you feel
How many bhp? Im looking to biult a 2332 for my buggy.
I have 212 hp at the flywheel, 166 hp at the wheels (with the street jettings and with oem clutch and streetmuffler, temperature that day was 29 ° Celcius, not ideal circumstances for a dyno-run.) A 2332 in a buggy will rock !!! Go for it , you won't be disapointed ;-)
mahler6x yes I want a motor with 150-160 bhp. Right now I have a 2021cc that makes 95bhp. The buggy weights 1335 pounds so it must be a blast to drive with a 2332cc. I was thinking on using the F8 or the FK87 camshaft for a weekend buggy that sometimes will run on the strip.
@@jonathanross4196 Yes, FK8 is a very good all round cam, suitable for street and strip. You might also want to check the raptor-cams from JPM (Johannes Persson Motorsport design ib Helsingborg) I have such a cam in my engine. Great cams.
mahler6x thank you. I will look at it. 👍🏻
mahler6x That’s a lot of Hp in a light car!
Do a ride along video!!
@Slades Vintage Beetle : check out my channel . There is one video of my bug at the strip (1/4 mile drag), there you can here an even better exhaust sound : The Wasp stage 1 stinger. Awesome sound !!! If the weather allows it, I will post a video of a drive-by. ;-)
Those Holey pumps are noisy !! :-)
Holy Crap Bro! That sounds good!! Damn!!!
you mentioned there are some jdm parts in a previous video can you let me know what engine parts are in
@tishal mathavan : I have a custom grind JPM Raptor camshaft in it with matching lifters from JPM, the dual taper pushrods, and the OTEVA double springs with Pauter rockers and titanium retainers + the wasp stage 1 exhaust system from JPM. Engine runs 7500 rpm easy due to very light valvetrain parts. Check out JPM motordesign Helsingborg. Great parts ! Greetz !
2332?
Yes.
What brand is the capture oil and the exhaust system? I loved it, excellent project
@Richard Varela Exhaust system is EMPI 1 5/8", oil capture is Gene Berg. Thanks !
Love the interior
What was the box inside the car at the back? To get those wheels on is the best thing to put Porsche breaks on ?
Those Porsche wheels are mounted on drilled stock front discs with Porsche pattern 5x130mm holes aswel as the rear stock drums. I have put in 356 brake pistons in the back to have more braking power. They fit with stock anchorplates. The box in the back is my ignition (MSD) + rpm limiter. All wires come together there, away from moist, dust and heat. Cheers !
What’s up homeboy did you go inside your motor or is it and the heads stock?
HI, heads are stock VW original valves, dual port.
love the music!
